Curaçao is in the midst of the construction of a new flight connection with a new travel destination: Ecuador. Last week, a trial run of 12 charter flights from Quito, Ecuador, debuted. The flights will target the Ecuadorian travel market and might potentially boost Curaçao’s already-impressive tourism numbers.
The flights will make a short stop in Guayaquil, after which they will continue non-stop and bring a potential 1,600 Ecuadorian tourist arrivals to Curaçao, with 145 passengers per flight. The Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) has also stated that there is already a lot of interest in these flights in Ecuador, which will be significantly supported by the social media campaigns the CTB is putting together in conjunction with regional hotel partners to reach the public in Quito, Guayaquil, and Cuenca.
The flights themselves are organized in cooperation with Maxi Travel, Mas Travel Ecuador, Dream & Travel Ecuador, Golden Vacations, and Castillum Travel, among several other companies. Additionally, the CTB is hosting regular sales seminars and educational webinars for travel agents to continue promoting Curaçao in the aforementioned Ecuadorian cities.
The trial run of charter flights will continue until mid-September.
