Sandals Royal Curaçao recently held a highly successful promotional event aimed at US and Canadian markets; it hosted 79 top radio stations across the USA and Canada. From August 21st to September 1st, this event—known as a “remote event”—reached 93 key markets in both countries and engaged over 15 million listeners, promoting both the Curaçao and Sandals Resorts brands.
During this event, radio DJs left their studios to showcase the island’s vibrant culture and Sandals Royal Curaçao’s exceptional amenities, service, and team members. Spearheaded by Sandals Resorts and sponsored by the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB), this event allowed Sandals Royal Curaçao’s team members and leaders to share firsthand what makes the island and resort a perfect destination.
The event also featured interviews with CTB executive Jacqueline Sybrandy-Held and provided a platform for DJs to share their experiences through social media.
Listeners were treated to enthusiastic endorsements from DJs, praising the resort’s staff, food, and breathtaking scenery. They also had the chance to explore Willemstad, visit the Sandals Foundation-supported Rif Mangrove Park, and engage in a plastic recycling session.
Kevin Clarke, General Manager for Sandals Royal Curaçao, highlighted the event’s value in promoting Curaçao and the resort to North American visitors, especially with the approaching winter season.
Listeners had exclusive opportunities to win a 4-day/3-night stay at any Sandals Resort in Curaçao, The Bahamas, or Jamaica, including roundtrip airfare from American Airlines, the official airline sponsor.
The event’s success was made possible with support from key sponsors, including the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) and Air Canada Vacations, ensuring a memorable and impactful experience for all involved.
