Limpi Recycling, a sustainable enterprise based in Curaçao, has taken another exciting step toward a cleaner future with the opening of its new facility at the island’s Sambil Mall. Known for its innovative approach to transforming plastic waste into reusable products, Limpi is not just a business – it’s a movement toward sustainability and a greener island.
Limpi Recycling was founded in the Netherlands by a group of Industrial Product Design students from Curaçao who shared a deep interest in addressing the global challenge of plastic waste. “Our passion for exploring the impact of plastic and recycling techniques inspired us to establish Limpi in Curaçao in 2018,” the founders explained.
At the heart of Limpi Recycling’s operations are machines they’ve designed and built in-house. These machines transform discarded plastic into innovative, usable products, proving that waste can have a second life. Limpi’s creations, from unique household items to sustainable materials, are tangible examples of what’s possible when innovation meets purpose.
Since its inception, Limpi Recycling has steadily grown from a small-scale operation into a driving force for sustainability in Curaçao. Its innovative approach has captured the attention of local communities and businesses, leading to increasing demand for its recycled products. Now, with the inauguration of its new facility at the Sambil Mall, the company is set to make an even greater impact.
More than just a recycling facility, the Sambil location will also serve as a platform for education. Limpi plans to host workshops, raise awareness, and show visitors firsthand how plastic waste can be turned into something valuable. By inviting the community to learn, see, and participate, they hope to spark a collective effort toward reducing plastic waste.
