The Rhuggenaath government recently took the first step towards the implementation of the Quick Win Plan to develop the Zakitó area. This was done symbolically by unveiling the creation of a mural by Sander Beusekom at the Aqualectra complex at the entrance of Koredor together with three ministers.
The Quick Win Plan is one of the action points of the Rhuggenaath cabinet to develop the Zakitó area. This project was already adopted by the Council of Ministers in December 2018, after which the government of Curaçao and the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) signed an agreement early this year for the implementation of the Quick Win Plan. “The Quick Win Plan for the development of Zakitó contains several small improvements that increase the value of the area, make it more attractive to the local community, improve the welfare of the community, and at the same time arouse interest among potential investors. These improvements include a thorough cleaning of the area, additional lighting, improvements to a beach near Koredor, and improvements to recreational facilities,” the CTB explains.
The Quick Win Plan was launched in the week of May 22nd by former Minister of Economic Development – Giselle Mc William – Minister of Traffic, Transportation, and Spatial Planning – Zita Jesus-Leito – and Minister of Health, Environment, and Nature – Suzy Camelia-Römer. It promises to provide a substantive return on investment for international investors.
