Last week, the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) announced significant developments in air connectivity that will cater to the growing interest in visiting this Caribbean gem.
Air Canada has decided to transition its seasonal Toronto route into a year-round offering, allowing travelers to indulge in Curaçao’s captivating charm and natural beauty throughout the year. Since June 2023, Air Canada has been operating regular flights from Toronto on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. This expanded service ensures convenient access for Canadian tourists seeking an enriching journey in Curaçao.
Additionally, responding to the growing demand from the United States, American Airlines will launch daily non-stop service from Charlotte, North Carolina, starting in December 2023. Compared to the current once-a-week connection, this increased frequency of flights aims to meet the needs of American travelers eager to explore Curaçao’s tropical paradise.
Ruisandro Cijntje, Minister of Economic Development, expressed his enthusiasm for these new flight routes, stating, “Curaçao has long been working toward attracting North American tourists through product and infrastructure development. The introduction of a year-round airlift from Toronto with Air Canada, as well as the daily service from Charlotte with American Airlines, reflects the island’s continuous growth and commitment to providing exceptional travel experiences. We eagerly anticipate welcoming more guests to explore our breathtaking landscapes, rich history, and warm hospitality.”
These expanded flight routes are the result of collaboration between the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB), Curaçao Airport Partners (CAP), Curaçao Airport Holding (CAH), airlines, and travel industry partners. Together, they aim to support the island’s tourism growth and ensure a seamless travel experience for visitors. With improved air connectivity, Curaçao is poised to attract even more travelers from Canada and the United States.
