The Curaçao Investment & Export Promotion Agency (CINEX) has announced the appointment of Miles B. M. Mercera, MSc., as its new CEO, effective January 1, 2025. Mercera brings extensive experience and a fresh perspective to the role, marking a pivotal moment for CINEX’s continued growth and evolution.
CINEX’s core mission is to attract and assist foreign investors and entrepreneurs in establishing businesses on the island while promoting the export of local products and services.
Mr. Charles Cooper, Curaçao’s Minister of Economic Development, expressed strong support for Mercera’s appointment, emphasizing CINEX’s vital role in Curaçao’s economic future. He stated: «CINEX is a vital instrument in our strategy to diversify and strengthen our economy. I am confident that with Mr. Mercera at the helm, we will see advancements in our economic sectors. The CINEX Supervisory Board commended the rigorous selection process conducted by Deloitte, overseen by the SBTNO (Stichting Bureau Toezicht en Normering Overheidsentiteiten, which translates to the Foundation for Supervision and Standardization of Government Entities). They noted: «The approval and appointment of Miles Mercera as the new CEO of CINEX followed a thorough and diligent process. We are excited about the future and the innovative ideas he brings to the table.
