Curaçao will be represented at the Island Finance Forum 2022 from April 25 to April 29. This conference brings together policymakers and top professionals in the domains of sustainable finance and development to share and exchange knowledge about how to create sustainable and inclusive financial structures in island communities. It is a free virtual event with a variety of interactive sessions available to registrants from around the world, including networking chances to connect and discuss ideas face to face or in small groups.
The Forum’s goal is to bring attention to the particular financial issues that global island communities face, as well as solutions for long-term economic recovery and inclusive progress in a post-pandemic world. Attendees can choose the topics and sessions they want to actively participate in, and many will watch and comment on the session recordings after the event.
The objectives of this forum will be to; bridge the gap between sustainable development practitioners and financial stakeholders; help island stakeholders access expert knowledge and financial opportunities; showcase the economic opportunities available from investing in the sustainability sector on islands.
Among the speakers at this forum will be; His Excellency Surangel S. Whipps Jr., president of the Republic of Palau; Hon. Gaston Browne, prime minister of Antigua and Barbuda and chair of AOSIS; Jean-Paul Adam, director of the UN Economic Commission for Africa; and Curaçao’s very own Vanessa Toré, director of the Foreign Economic Cooperation Division at Curaçao’s Ministry of Economic Development (MEO).
