In a vibrant display of creative exploration and cultural exchange, 30 prominent TikTok influencers from the United States and Canada recently visited Curaçao. Organized in collaboration between the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) and Diamond PR, this unique mega trip was designed to cast a spotlight on Curaçao’s captivating beauty and unique tourism offerings. The goal was clear: to boost awareness of this Caribbean gem among key target markets and captivate the hearts of prospective visitors.
From September 12th to the 15th, this influential group of TikTokers immersed themselves in the myriad experiences that Curaçao has to offer, and their adventures were beautifully documented in captivating videos. With a combined follower count of over 40 million, these influencers, each specializing in various niches such as travel, gastronomy, diving, dancing, fashion, LGBTQ, entertainment, sports, and wellness, illuminated Curaçao to a large and diverse audience.
The journey kicked off with a spirited Mini Carnival, led by a lively brass band and participants adorned in colorful Carnival attire. Starting at Wilhelmina Park, they paraded across the iconic Emma Bridge, concluding their festive procession at Kurá Hulanda Village. The following day, the TikTok cohort embarked on a scenic scooter tour through Willemstad, basking in the vibrant murals that adorn the city’s walls and savoring a local culinary delight at Plasa Bieu, the Old Market.
Their voyage of discovery extended to the breathtaking Shete Boka National Park and the pristine shores of the Kenepa Grandi beach. The group then indulged in exhilarating jet ski rides and refreshing swims at the Cas Abou beach. Additionally, they embraced local culture through a culinary workshop, explored the scenic eastern side of Curaçao on a thrilling buggy tour, and discovered the art of tea crafting at Hòfi Mango, where they concocted their own herbal teas.
This visit to Curaçao was a part of the TikTok Island Hop project, masterfully orchestrated by the Diamond PR agency, which put together the influencers’ exploration of both Bonaire and Curaçao.
TikTok is a supremely popular social media platform, boasting a staggering presence in 160 countries and over 1.1 billion active users. It has been downloaded more than 220 million times in the United States alone. And the platform’s influence extends across generations as well, with over 50% of its users aged over 30. Notably, it has become Gen Z’s preferred search engine, surpassing even Google.
The CTB expresses immense satisfaction with the collaboration among Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB), Diamond PR, and Curaçao’s tourism partners. This synergy allowed the island to showcase the rich diversity of its tourism offerings to a highly influential group of TikTok creators, forging connections that will undoubtedly continue to inspire travelers to explore the magic of Curaçao.
