In the month of June, a record number of North American travelers visited Curaçao. In one month, the island welcomed 9,584 stay-over arrivals from the USA and 275 from Canada, for a total of 9,859 visitors from the continent to the North.
The performance of the American market, in particular, has broken all previous records for visitor numbers during the low season. And they weren’t the only surprising market Curaçao managed to attract this season. Curaçao also welcomed large numbers of travelers from South American countries. We welcomed 6,206 travelers from the South American region, of which 3,378 (54%) traveled from Colombia and 875 (14%) traveled from Brazil.
It was also a fantastic month for cruise arrivals, with the island’s ports welcoming 9 cruise ships and 29,808 cruise visitors in June.
This is all in addition to another month of stellar arrival numbers from the European and Dutch Caribbean markets as well. The Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) reports that in the first half of 2022, Curaçao had recovered 96% of its pre-pandemic level of tourist visits.
