On Thursday the 2nd of January 2020, the government of Curaçao and Curaçao Tourism Board signed a treaty to execute a plan titled “Quick Win Plan” for the Zakitó area.
The principals of their vision include: maintaining the authentic/historical value of the area and maintaining free access to the sea there.
The “Quick Win Plan” entails carrying out activities to make small improvements (“upgrades”) in the area that will raise its value and simultaneously make it more appealing to the island’s local community, stimulating them to make more use of it. These improvement activities are also aimed at generating interest among potential investors.
Among the activities will be a thorough cleaning of the area, installing more lighting, restoring the beach at Koredor, mending certain parts of Koredor’s walking promenade and creating facilities in which events can be organized in Zakitó.
According to the planning of the treaty, work will commence in the first quarter of this year.
With this project the government of Curaçao continues on its course of making significant investments in our economy, which also aids the growth of our touristic product.
