This week, the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) released its report on stayover tourism in March, and the results are once again stellar. With an average of 1351 stayover visitors per day, the island welcomed 40.539 stayover tourists from Europe, North America, South America, and the Caribbean. And, on average, more than half of these visitors stayed in resort hotels.
Adding to these numbers, the month of March also brought 39 cruise ship calls and 60.237 cruise visitors to Curaçao’s ports.
In the first three months of 2022, the island received a total of 111.000 visitors. This is a 22% increase over the same time in 2021, when Curaçao had 24.000 stayover travelers. This also represents an 88 percent recovery of the island’s pre-pandemic tourism level — Curaçao received 127.000 visitors in the first quarter of 2019. These are very promising signs and the CTB is very confident that the streak has continued in April.
