Bearded Butlers is a family business that provides personalized tours to visiting tourists in Curaçao. All of which revolve around water-related adventures and during which anyone can experience and enjoy the most beautiful underwater wonders of Curaçao. Our tours include the Seabob Adventure Tour, the Paddle Board Adventure Tour, and the Snorkel Adventure. We go against the trends of mass tourism and promote an intimate local experience in the most adventurous way possible, with an emphasis on showing the tourists hidden gems they rarely get to see otherwise. This business concept flowed forth from the love for our island from our founder, Andy Max Elstak. It also comes from his love for the ocean and outdoors and his passion for doing something he loves, showing people what he loves, and showing people how beautiful Curaçao is. So after doing some research on the tourism potential for the island, he grabbed a Seabob and kicked off our one-of-a-kind entrepreneur story. So far the highlights of our tenure as a company have been the tours themselves and being able to share Curaçao with people from different cultures — one even left a review saying she felt like a mermaid on the Seabob Adventure Tour. While teaching them about our culture we also get to know more about theirs so it’s a very rewarding experience.
Unfortunately, as a tourism-based company, the COVID-19 crisis brought our business to a standstill. But that doesn’t mean we ourselves stood still. We continued to upgrade our knowledge of interesting facts about the island’s nature and history and we used this time to also research other innovative ways to provide our unique tours to the island’s visitors. So when the borders reopen we will have a revamped offering of adventures and we plan on working with hotel desks to further market them to stay-over tourists. We will also be offering special tour packages to our fellow Curaçaoans, helping them rediscover our island.
